Getting Started

Valdosta State University uses BlazeVIEW (BlackBoard Vista 8) as an online course management system. Although your classes may not be scheduled to be taught online, you will find that using BlazeVIEW as a course management system is very efficent. With BlazeVIEW you can post your syllabus, have an online drop box for your assignments, allow students to download lecture notes, get all of your students to participate in online class discussions, schedule online quizes and exams, and much more.     Online Lifeline Conference 2010BlazeVIEW delivers content in a number of forms. To support this technology, it is important that your computer is configured properly. Ensuring that your computer and connections are configured properly before accessing BlazeVIEW will prevent you from experiencing problems.


3. Log into BlazeVIEW

  • BlazeVIEW uses the same username and password as your VSU BlazeNet email account. To locate your account information, refer to the guide from the IT Helpdesk Finding Your BlazeNet and BlazeMail Password.
  • Brand new faculty will not have access to BlazeVIEW until a few days before the term starts. For access prior to this time please email blazeview@valdosta.edu. Please see "How to Get Help" for more details.
  • Any Staff member who needs access to BlazeVIEW for training please call Distance Learning at 229-245-6490
