Getting Started

Use the following procedures to verify that you are ready to start working with WebCT Vista at VSU. You should repeat these Getting Started procedures with any new computer used, and periodically revisit this page for updated information.

  • Minimum Requirements - The minimum recommendation provided here ensures a reasonable user experience when dealing with online content and communications via WebCT Vista. More importantly, a smooth experience will make teaching and learning more effective.

  • Check your web browser WebCT Browser Checker
This browser check will ensure your browser is configured properly for use with WebCT tools.

If after performing the browser check you still experience difficulties using WebCT, there may be a problem with your browser or other software on your computer.

Try the Georgia Tech Browser Diagnostic Test

    • AOL's web browser does not work. AOL users should use IE or another validated browser instead of AOL's browser.

    • Have available an alternative web browser: IE, Mozilla

  • Verify your Java with the Java Troubleshooting Guide. The majority of user problems in WebCT result from issues with the Java installation.

  • Identify your Username and Password
  • Tutorials
