Drafts (Checking) and Debit Cards -No Fees!
Accel Financial Counseling
As
a benefit of your membership, VECU is providing you with free access to and
financial education and counseling services called Accel.
CheckRight Account Management Education
CheckRight is a web-based checking
account management education module designed to teach you how to manage a
checking account. Use CheckRight if you are looking to open a
checking account for the first time or you have had difficulty handling an
account in the past.
BudgetSmart
BudgetSmart is a new and exciting software program now
available on our website. This easy-to-use software tool uses simple
graphics, "pop-up" boxes and bar charts to help you manage your
money more effectively. You can use the program to:
- Establish a
budget
- Track
spending
- View tips
for improving areas of overspending or inadequate saving
- Experiment with
"what if" scenarios to determine how a major purchase or
change in income would impact your budget

ATM
One
ATM is located at the Credit Union, 308 E. Ann Street, and one ATM is
located at VSU Plant Operations on Ashley Street. No fees apply to
credit union members using a VECU ATM or any ATM in the CU24 ATM Network.
E-statement
The
e-statement service is available at no charge to members through the Online
Banking system. Enroll by logging into the system, select Accounts,
then Account Statement to provide your email address. An email will
be sent to you when a current statement is available at which time you can
log into the Online Banking system to retrieve your statement.
Payroll
Deduction
A
VECU staff member can assist you in setting up VSU payroll deduction into
your share account, share draft account, or to apply towards any loan.
Direct
Deposit & ACH transfers
VECU
accepts your direct deposits and ACH transfers and can assist you with
incoming and outgoing transfers (a fee will apply).
Christmas
Club
An
application for membership shall be completed in writing and signed by
applicant. Open enrollment will be allowed throughout the year. The
club year program will begin on November 1st and checks will be
mailed by November 15th of the following year. No fees or
service charges will be assessed to participants. Dividends will be
paid on the account quarterly at the current rate.
Minimum deposits under the club program are:
$ 5.00 Biweekly (payroll deduction)
$10.00 Monthly (payroll deduction)
The deduction can be canceled at any time.
Withdrawal before the club year-ends will close the account for that year
and the account will be subject to a loss of dividends payable.
Check
Cashing
VECU will cash checks for members. A $3.00 service charge applies to
cash non-member checks.
