Purpose

Provide an additional service to VECU members by allowing access to their share draft account funds through a VISA® check card anywhere the VISA® card is accepted and at many ATMs nationwide. 
 

Eligibility

Any member or association of members with an open share account and share draft account in good standing is eligible to receive a VECU VISA® check card. 
 

Application

A VISA® check card application is available at the VECU main branch.
 

Fees

The initial check card is provided free of charge to members.  There is no monthly fee for debit card usage.  Any overdraft or related fees will be assessed using the VECU Share Draft Fee Disclosure.  A 1.00% conversion fee will be charged to all international debit card purchases.
 

Statements

Check card transactions will appear on the member’s monthly share draft account statement.  If the member requests a statement at another interval, a fee may be charged according to the VECU Fee Schedule. 
 

ATMs and Withdrawal of Cash

VECU maintains two ATMs.  One is located at Valdosta Educators Credit Union’s main branch at 308 East Ann St., and one is located in the VSU Plant Operations building on Ashley St.  Members may withdrawal cash using their VECU issued VISA® debit card at no charge, subject to their account balance.  VECU does not issue a strictly ATM card/non-check card.  Many merchants, at no additional charge, offer the cashback feature to customers. 

VECU has joined the CU24 ATM and POS Network.  This allows members to use their VECU issued VISA® debit card to withdrawal cash, at no fee, at over 100,000 ATMs nationwide.  A list of ATMs in this network is available online at www.cu24.com, several of which are located throughout the Valdosta service area.  A member using his check card at an ATM not in the CU24 Network will be charged a service fee in accordance with the VECU Fee Schedule.
