Emerging Leader Program 2008 FAQs
How will I know if I have been selected for the program?
If you submit you application online you will receive an e-mail confirmation that your application has been received. Selection for the Emerging Leader Program is a competitive process. After applications and essays are evaluated, selected applicants will be notified on or before their scheduled orientation in June. Applicants that are not selected will be notified by mail from the Office of Orientation and Leadership Programs.
How many students will be in the program?
The program will be limited to 75 first-semester students in order to effectively provide both individual and small group learning opportunities. Please submit your application promptly if you are interested in joining.
Why is there a fee for the program?
This fee is necessary to assist with the cost of the overnight retreat and additional out-of-classroom activities throughout the semester. The Emerging Leader Program fee is $50 per student and due by August 11th, 2008.
Do I have to pay a fee for the Emerging Leader class?
If you are planning to register for 12 or more semester hours of academic classes including the Emerging Leader class, additional class fees will not be assessed, even if you are a Hope Scholarship recipient. Keep in mind that all academic courses require fee payment. The Office of Orientation and Leadership will assist you with your advising and registration process at your orientation session to ensure that you are enrolled in this course.
