Junior Panhellenic Constitution

- Purpose: to further the knowledge of College Panhellenic Council and to build leadership skills in the new women of the Greek system.
- Membership: membership in Junior Panhellenic is extended to those women regularly enrolled at Valdosta State University who are not yet initiated members of their organizations.
- Officers: the officer of the Junior Panhellenic shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
- Officers serve in the capacity of ex officio: with voice, but no vote.
- Officer duties:
- President
- The Junior Panhellenic President shall be trained to and eventually preside over meetings of the Junior Panhellenic.
- The timely and proper functioning of Junior Panhellenic Shall be directed by the Junior Panhellenic President, under the advisement of the College Panhellenic Council Vice President.
- Vice President
- The Vice President shall serve in the capacity of President, should the president be unable to fulfill any duty. (i.e. - presiding over a meeting...).
- The Vice President shall also be in charge of social events and other programming (i.e. Christmas Cotillion, scholarship programs, etc.)
- Secretary
- The Secretary shall record minutes of all Junior Panhellenic meetings.
- The Secretary shall attend all College Panhellenic Council meetings and relay information to Junior Panhellenic.
- Treasurer
- The Treasurer shall work with the Intersorority Council Treasurer and plan budgets for Junior Panhellenic events.
- The Treasurer shall plan and direct any community service or philanthropic activity of the Junior Panhellenic.
- Any funds raised for any philanthropic organization shall be gathered by the Treasurer and given to the College Panhellenic Council Treasurer for one check to be written.
- Term: the term of Junior Panhellenic shall be the first semester of the academic year.
- Meetings:
- Junior Panhellenic shall meet regularly, the minimum being twice a month.
- In attendance at the Junior Panhellenic meetings shall be Junior Panhellenic executive Council, at least one delegate from each new member class, and the College Panhellenic Council Vice President.
- Elections:
- Elections shall be held at the beginning of Fall Semester.
- Candidates shall fill out an application and delegates will select a candidate at the following Junior Panhellenic meeting.
- Voting:
- All matters of Junior Panhellenic shall be passed by a majority vote.
Bylaws

- National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations (Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta) are encouraged, but not mandated to attend Junior Panhellenic meetings. NPHC groups hold membership intake at different times of the year, and may not all have a new member class at the same time.
- As College Panhellenic Council is a combined organization, Junior Panhellenic shall include both National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) organizations and NPHC organizations on matters that concern both groups.
- As College Panhellenic Council is the governing body of the combined NPC and NPHC, Junior Panhellenic shall make NO decision surpassing College Panhellenic Council. Junior Panhellenic shall not vote on matters such as NPC expansion, the constitution of the College Panhellenic Council, or any matter that is outside the realm of Junior Panhellenic.
- There shall be at least one delegate from Junior Panhellenic at every College Panhellenic Council meeting.
- The Junior Panhellenic shall plan one social event and one community/philanthropic service event during the Junior Panhellenic term.
- The chain of command in the Junior Panhellenic is as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.
- Should a vacancy occur in the office of President, the Vice President assumes the office. Should any other vacancy occur, a replacement shall be chosen by a majority vote of the delegation.
