  • If you could offer current sophomores one piece of advice what would that be?

Please get involved on campus! I am convinced that when you get involved with organizations then you get a more of a sense of who you are and what you can do. But that doesn’t mean to swamp yourself with activities that will leave you stressed out.

  • What are some of the challenges you faced during your second year?

My second year of college I feel as though I was still learning about myself. I still had no idea which type of studying helped me.  Also, I was placed as a captain on a flag football team and I had no idea what I was doing. I was really insecure about how people perceived me. I just didn’t want anyone to be let down or be upset with me. I was a big people pleaser! But by God’s grace that changed!

  • If you could have added or changed one thing about your sophomore year what would it have been?

I would have spent more time studying. I remember a sociology class and I barely studied. That made my GPA drop and I lost the HOPE Scholarship. My social life was never a problem! I wish I was just a better student.

  • Who/what has been the most influential person/moment in your college experience thus far?

I have had several people and a specific defining moment that has influenced my college experience. My life wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for a few individuals who loved me when they first met me.  They were willing to sacrifice being comfortable to share The Good News. Since I accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, my life hasn’t been the same!
