Welcome to Blazer Beginnings Orientation! The mission of the orientation program at Valdosta State University is to provide new students and parents with information about Valdosta State's educational programs, support services, student life opportunities, and campus facilities. Orientation sessions provide an opportunity for students to meet other students, meet their academic advisor and register for classes, and get their VSU student I. D. card. There will be staff and current students leading sessions designed to address questions or concerns that parents may have. During general orientation sessions lunch will be provided. By the end of a session, our hope is that students are looking forward to their time at Valdosta State University, and both students and parents are feeling comfortable with the transition to college life. At your orientation session you will:

Meet with your academic advisor and register for classes

Get your VSU ID card and parking decal

Learn about housing, student activities, organizations, and health services

Attend sessions on Financial Aid

Attend sessions led by VSU counseling staff and administrative staff

Join the Parents and Families Association

Visit the Bookstore and Tech Shop

Meet other students attending VSU
