Did you know there is a FREE self defense class on campus?

Fall 2009 Schedule:
- Oct. 16 & 17 (Friday/ Saturday class) 3-9pm and 10-4pm
- Nov. 10, 12, 17, 19 (4 day class on Tuesday and Thursday) 6-9pm
The women of Valdosta State University have access to the free Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course, a comprehensive course of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. R.A.D. System is the largest women's self-defense network in the United States.
The courses at of Valdosta State University are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors whose initial focus is on education and awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance of assault and rape. Instructors provide a workbook/reference manual and hands-on training. The R.A.D. System is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by utilizing easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics. It will provide women with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance, because YOU are your best defense. The program is suitable for women of all ages and abilities .
The R.A.D. class is FREE to ALL women at VSU including students, employees, & alumni.
