SAFE SPRING BREAK

It’s March, and I know you’ve been anxiously waiting for Spring Break to finally arrive!  Well, it’s here… But before you go, please read some healthy tips that can help you have the most enjoyable experience possible!

Thinking-Ahead Tips:

  • Make sure you have your ID
  • Don’t carry around lots of big bills, and just bring 1 credit card
  • Carry the number for a reliable transportation service
  • Stock up on Sun Block (At least 15 SPF) and waterproof is best
  • Pack a hat and jacket just in case the sun gets to be too much
  • Bring some aloe if you easily burn
  • Pack some over the counter pain medicines for head/stomach relief
  • Don’t forget your medicine (If you take a daily pill)
  • Pack some condoms ( You probably don’t want an STD for a souvenir)
  • Bring dark sunglasses (the higher the UVA & UVB protection, the darker)

Stranger Danger Tips:

  • Always tell someone where you are going
  • Beware of strangers (Don’t leave with someone you don’t know)
  • Beware of those who you do know too (1 in 4 know their attacker)

Alcohol Tips:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day
  • Know the signs of dehydration (dizziness, weakness, muscle spasms, dark urine, passing out, confusion)
  • Don’t put extra salt on your Margarita (it dehydrates you more)
  • Eat before and while you are drinking
  • Set a limit of drinks and know your limit
  • Pace yourself when drinking so you can enjoy the entire day
  • Alternate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks
  • Don’t accept open containers from others & watch your drink
