DECEMBER HEALTHY HABIT:

GETTING INVOLVED

  • Are you involved?
  • Have you been depressed or upset lately?
  • Did you know research shows that people who get involved tend to possess a better mood or attitude?

*Maybe the key is to volunteer or pick up a new hobby or social activity!*

Besides improving your mood, there are numerous reasons for getting involved:

  • Do something you love
  • Learn something new
  • Give your time to help someone else
  • Use your talents to better your community
  • Develop new skills such as communication, time management, leadership, etc.
  • Become more well rounded
  • Learn more about yourself and others by being around different kinds of people
  • Develop better self-esteem
  • You feel good about yourself as you create and accomplish goals
  • GET BETTER GRADES!

Research shows…

Studies show that students who participate in one or more extra-curricular activity do better in their classes.  Being involved tends to make students more driven individuals who try their best to excel.  Furthermore, group activities regulate your serotonin levels, which in turn change your mood for the better!

--Did you know that there are more than 100 organizations on campus?--

*Whether you want to join an academic, spiritual, physical, or social club… There is something here for you!
