World Aids Day Event
World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1st. The World Health Organization established World AIDS Day in 1988. World AIDS Day provides governments, national AIDS programs, faith organizations, community organizations, and individuals with an opportunity to raise awareness and focus attention on the global AIDS epidemic. About the Speaker:
Harold P. Katner, M.D. is Chief of Infectious Diseases and Professor of Internal Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine. He has received many awards and honors, including the prestigious Lamartine Griffin Hardman Cup Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of medicine, the J. Stephen Wright Service Award, and over 20 clinical teaching awards from his medical students and residents.
Academically, Dr. Katner has done research in a number of fields including treatment of HIV, AIDS education, and the Euro-American origin of AIDS. He has published forty-eight papers covering these topics as well as other areas of internal medicine and infectious diseases.

ATTENTION WOMEN OF VSU!
You have access to a FREE self defense class at VSU!
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) is a comprehensive course of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. R.A.D. System is the largest women's self-defense network in the US.
These free courses are taught at Valdosta State University by certified R.A.D. instructors whose focus is on education/awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance of assault and rape. Instructors will provide you with a workbook/reference manual and teach you hands-on training.
You will learn easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics that will teach you that YOU are your best defense.
This program is suitable for women of all abilities.
R.A.D. training is free to all VSU women: students, faculty/staff, & alumni.
