Campus Communications Board Meeting minutes 04/28/05
The new Communications Board was called to order by Chair, Russ Mast. Members present were Michael Taylor, Dr. Pat Miller, Robin Vickery, Charles Harmon, Josh Stone, Jimmy Hallsworth, Russell Mast (chair) and Marcela Gonzalez who was an applicant for the WVVS General Manager position.
Mr. Mast explained the rationale behind the new Communications Board Committee (see attachments) and the committee member make-up. The committee structure is as follows:
Dean of Students (Chair)
Two SGA Senators
One CAB Representative
Director of University Relations
Director of Student Life
Spectator Editor
WVVS General Manager
Odradek Editor
Faculty Representative
COSA Representative
One representative from community with background as Newspaper professional
One representative from community with background as radio professional
Mr. Mast further explained that the new by-laws for the committee will be finalized during the summer and will be presented to the committee at the first meeting during fall semester.
The next item on the agenda was the selection of new editors for Spectator and Odradek and the general manager position for WVVS. Since there were only two applicants submitted the committee unanimously agreed to approve Mr. Josh Stone as the new Spectator editor and Ms. Marcela Gonzalez as the new WVVS general manager.
There was no old business, new business or miscellaneous announcements. The meeting was adjourned 4:30 PM.
