Blazer Leadership Award

This award, presented through the Division of Student Affairs, recognizes a freshmen, sophomore and/or junior student who have demonstrated outstanding involvement and initiative as well as great promise in the area of leadership on campus.

Blazer Leadership Award Criteria

1)   The nominee will be a freshman, sophomore, or junior student.

2)   The nominee will have been involved in campus activities and will have assumed responsibility in his/her area of participation.

3)   The nominee will have demonstrated strong initiative and will be recognized for his/her promise of leadership on campus.

4)   The nominee must be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic and conduct standing.

Blazer Leadership Award Selection

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, February 1, 2008 at 3pm and should include a brief statement (no more than one paragraph) of what qualifies the student for this award.  Nominees will be sent a letter informing them of their nomination along with an application for the award, this form will be due Friday, February 29, 2008 at 3pm.  The application is an opportunity for the student to portray his/her leadership skills and character to the selection committee.

Male/Female Senior Student Leader of the Year Award

This award, presented through the Valdosta State University Alumni Association and the Office of Student Affairs, honors both a male and female student leader from the senior class. The nominees must have attended the University for at least two years, and demonstrated outstanding involvement and initiative in the area of leadership on campus.

Male/Female Senior Student Leader of the Year Award Criteria

1)  The nominee will be a senior student.

2)  The nominee must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and be eligible for graduation in May, August or December of 2008.

3)  The nominee will have been involved in campus activities and will have assumed responsibility in his/her area of participation.
