Rape Aggression Defense (RAD)

A self defense course that teaches women risk recognition, awareness, reduction, & risk avoidance. In addition RAD teaches women self defense so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked.

A crime prevention program, an educational resource, and an introduction to the possibility of physical training as an option.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is October!

Purple Ribbon week for Health Promotions will be Oct 4-8. There will be purple ribbons displayed around campus along with information about Domestic Violence. Wellness Wednesday will be on Oct 6 in the Union & the topic will be Domestic Violence & Relationships. Stop by to pick up your purple ribbon pin & educational information. SAFE will be offered on Oct 14 at 6:30 in the Union Meeting Rm 1 at 6:30. All women are invited to attend. You will learn about risk awareness and risk reduction along with some basic self defense skills. Drunk Sex or Date Rape? Brett Sokolow will be the speaker for this event on Oct. 21 at 7:00 in the Union Ballroom. Domestic Violence information will be provided in conjunction with Volunteer Services week in the Union.

Sexual Assault Prevention Month

April is Sexual Assault Prevention Month and in recognition of this month there will be educational programming available along with informational booths throughout the month. The culmination will be Take Back The Night, which is the candle light vigil and march in honor, memory, and recognition of people who have been sexually assaulted.
