The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a freshman living-learning program that brings together students interested in developing and continuing their leadership involvements as they transition from a high school campus to a collegiate community. ELP is designed to encourage and develop incoming freshman student leaders into future existing and experienced leaders on campus. This group will participate in an academic class, ongoing activities throughout their freshman semester and attend an exciting retreat in August. Applications are available on line and mailed to each incoming freshman along with informational orientation brochures. ELP is limited to 75 students each Fall semester.
Existing & Experienced Leaders Program is designed for sophomore, junior and senior level students to continue their leadership skills and knowledge with practical applications. Student teams will develop and lead in campus, service, and community projects as well as participate in planning and facilitating a campus leadership conference each February. This group will also assist the Emerging Leaders Program inside and outside of the classroom. Selection is each Spring semester and is open to all VSU students with a minimum 2.5 GPA and a clear disciplinary record with the Office of Student Conduct.
