Strategic Research & Analysis provides campus data and information to students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Our primary purpose is to facilitate the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data to support planning and effective decision making.

How Can We Help You?

SRA can provide the VSU community, including our students, with assistance in the following areas:

  • Information regarding enrollment data, student body data, institutional data, and graduation and retention rates;
  • Accessing restricted federal use data (supervised) for a research project;
  • Development, administration, collection, and analysis of surveys;
  • Real-time factsheets and reports on academic and student demographics through the SRA Portal;
  • Collecting data and statistics to support strategic planning and decision making;
  • Development of needs assessments such as for assembling data for a new or current program or for reaccreditation purposes;
  • Recommending a certificate program for students interested in pursuing their education in the institutional research field.

  • Total enrollment = 11,092

  • Undergraduate enrollment = 9,255
  • Graduate enrollment = 1,837

  • Top 3 majors: Biology, Early Childhood Education, Nursing

  • 36% of students come from the Southwest Georgia Economic Development Region.

  • 24% of Spring 2009's first-time, returning freshmen come from the Southwest Georgia Economic Development Region.

  • 93% of Fall 2008's first-time freshmen returned in Spring 2009 .
