Graduate Social Work Organization
Faculty Advisors: Dr. Diane Holliman On-Campus Cohorts and Mrs. Allison Curington Web-Hybrid Cohort

The Graduate Social Work Organization (GSWO) was formed in 1999 as the local organization for students in the social work program at Valdosta State University. Its purpose is to promote camaraderie and exchange between students at all levels in the program. Each semester social functions are held. Furthermore each semester a community project is completed. All students in the program automatically are members of GSWO. There is no fee.

Alpha Delta Mu
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Diane Holliman

Alpha Delta Mu is a national honor society for social workers. Students in the local Epsilon Deltal Chapter must have a combination of outstanding character and high grade point average (3.5) to become a member. Students meeting these requirements may join and they are inducted in our annual Division banquet, which is the annual highlight of student activities. Each semester, Alpha Delta Mu completes a community project.

Phi Alpha - Nu Xi Chapter
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Diane Holliman

The Nu Xi Chapter of Phi Alpha is the newest honor society in Social Work and is recognized by the Council on Social Work Education. Students may be inducted into this new organization if they have a 3.5 graduate gpa and have high character and integrity.  The lifetime fee is $20.00.  This new honor society cooperates in all community activities with both the Graduate Social Work Organization and Alpha Delta Mu.
