VSU puts on many performances on campus every week. They take place right here in the Fine Arts Building, usually in Whitehead Auditorium, and are free to the public. You can use your SGSP parking permit to park for free on campus as well.
The Valdosta Symphony Youth Concerts take place this season on:
- Friday 2 October, 2009 at 10am
- Friday 4 December, 2009 at 10am
- Friday 26 March, 2009 at 10am
- Friday 30 April, 2009 at 10am
VSU's newly formed Panamerican Ensemble gave its incredibly successful premiere concert last Spring. Many SGSP families enjoyed the mix of music from around the world, as well as the more informal atmosphere of the performance. This year we continue with a lively mix of Tango, Mariachi, Fiddling, Bossa Nova, and more.
- Monday 2 November at 7.30pm in Whitehead Auditorium
- Sunday 18 April in the afternoon in Whitehead Auditorium
Dr. Gerling will be performing a solo recital with Florida State Faculty Member Dr. Deloise Lima on Wednesday 4 November at 7.30pm. You are all most warmly invited!
December 6th is the wonderful VSU Chamber Singers "Holiday Candlelight Concert" in the WEST HALL Rotunda. Two performances: one at 5pm and on at 7pm. This event requires tickets. Call 229-333-5812 to reserve.
