About S.A.V.E.
S.A.V.E (Students Against Violating the Environment) hopes to provide our organization as a resource and forum for education, as well as a medium from which our collective voices can be used effectively to insight Campus Environmental, Political, and social change. We exist as an autonomous organization, yet work hand in hand with national environmental organizations (Southern energy Network, Green Peace) University Campuses and Organizations across the South East U.S, and locally with the Mayor, City councilmen, Keep Lowndes Valdosta Beautiful (KLVB), Boys and Girls Club, as well as campus groups that currently include (NAACP, College Democrats, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and Student Government Association). We also work closely with the Valdosta State University Administration and service providers in assisting to ensure a bright, economically sound, and progressive future for our University and community for decades to come.
We are one of the groups striving to make progress in today's most important issues and we do so by making every attempt we can to utilize education and application in our activities and daily lives. Members of this group recognize that Environmental devastation is, fundamentally, a Humanitarian issue. Inherent in our paradigm is the fundamental wisdom that each engaged individual is in no way removed or displaced from his or her ecological surroundings. Thus, the best way for us to insight social change, we believe, is to foster it within our hearts, and exemplify it in our personal action.
We understand, most importantly, that change requires love and respect for those who think in a different way. It is only then when the meanings of our cause can become truly powerful. This group is for anyone who values, or will value, the quality of life we will leave for our children and generations to come.
