CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Date(s): Friday, September 4th/Friday, October 9th/Friday, October 30th/Friday, November 13th
Time: 2-9pm
Description: Course that teaches a variety of skills including infant, child, and adult CPR, one- and two-rescuer CPR, use of resuscitation masks and bag-valve masks for ventilating victims, and how to respond in special rescue situations such as choking or other breathing difficulties.
Fees: Cost $65/person, Nonmember Cost $75/person
Standard First Aid
Date: Friday, September 18th/Friday, November 6th
Time: 2-9pm
Description: Supplies participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers first aid and adult CPR. Workplace Training: Standard First Aid with AED is available in a 6 ½ hour course with AED training included.
Fees: Cost $55/person
Weekend Lifeguard Class
Date: September 25th-27th, October 2nd-4th (Friday-Sunday)
Time: 7:30-10pm
Description: Through classroom learning and hands-on practice, participants train to help people safely enjoy the water. Lifeguard candidates learn land and water-based rescue skills, first aid and professional rescuer CPR procedures, lifeguarding responsibilities and tactics for interacting positively with the public and addressing uncooperative patrons. This course includes Automated External Defibrillation, Preventing Disease Transmission, and Oxygen Administration.
Fees: Cost $140/person, Nonmember Cost $160/person
Spring 2010

NOTE: Candidate must have already completed CPR for the Professional rescuer course prior to taking this course.

Lifeguard Re-Certification Class
Date: Friday, April 2nd
Time: 2-9pm

There is a minimum of five (5) people per class
To register for a class, come by the Campus Recreation Office between the hours of 8:00-5:30pm
