Department of Political Science
Welcome from Our Department Head
Faculty members possess a range of specializations as well as backgrounds. Drs. Bartholomew, Elza and Pufong offer valuable courses in paralegal studies, public and constitutional law. Drs. Baun, Glen and Peterson provide courses in the comparative and international areas of political science. Drs. LaPlant, Saeger, and Winder deliver exciting courses on various topics in American Politics. Drs. Aldinger, Allen, Argyle, and Bamfo instruct core courses in public administration on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Also, faculty members instruct a variety of basic courses in the core curriculum. Our department prides itself on the international background and experiences of our faculty. Dr. Bamfo is originally from Ghana: Dr. Pufong hails from the Cameroon: and Dr. Glenn from Scotland. Dr. Elza studied and instructed at Syktyvkar in Russia, while Dr. Aldinger worked on academic projects in Belize. Dr. Baun and Dr. Bamfo studied abroad in France with students in our department. Also, the State Department Grant allows more than half the faculty to instruct at Palacky University in the Czech Republic. Individual courses reflect the interests and experiences of our faculty members. Students can obtain a solid liberal arts education with a specialization of their own within the field. The department can help open doors to careers and higher educational opportunities for students who possess the motivation and drive. I would like to extend an invitation to tour our campus and talk with our faculty and staff. Dr. James Peterson |
