VSU Parents and Families Association

KSchutlz, DVM

Dear VSU Parents,

As Chairperson of the Valdosta State University Parent's Council, I'd like to invite you to become a member of the VSU Parents & Families Association. The purpose of the Association is to keep you informed about what is happening of VSU through a variety of communication methods and encourage you to visit campus for orientation and special family weekends. Membership in the VSU Parents & Families Association makes it easy for us to keep you up to date with issues and information that affect your VSU student. Below you will find more information about the VSU Parents & Families Association or click here to join now.

Dr. Zaccari has announced his retirement as the president at VSU. He has provided excellent leadership during his tenure. The University has grown in terms of student numbers, facility expansion and most importantly in the quality of education. I am sure you will agree that we want VSU to continue these endeavors so our efforts will be more important in the coming months and years. Please click here for more information on Dr. Zaccari's retirement.

Again, thanks to each of you for your entrusting your son or daughter to VSU for their higher educationl. I look forward to upcoming opportunities to discuss ways to challenge and enrich our students lives while at VSU.

Sincerely,

Schultz letter

Kevin Schultz, DVM, Chairperson, VSU Parents Council

What does it cost?
Yearly dues for the VSU Parents and Families Association are $25 for two adults living at the same address.

What does my membership include?
Membership to the VSU Parents and Families Association includes 2 membership cards, 2 car decals, a 5% discount at the VSU Bookstore, and a quarterly email newsletter. Membership to the VSU Parents and Families Association is renewable yearly. We will notify you close to your renewal time.

Is this membership fee a gift to the VSU Foundation, Inc?
No, this is a dues payment, not a gift and helps us cover the costs of processing your membership fee, mailing your membership cards and decals and sending you email communications. Since tuition and state funding cover only 40% of the dollars it takes to operate VSU, we will ask your permission now to solicit you for a gift to the VSU Foundation at a later date or click here to make your gift now. In addition to gifts, the VSU Foundation processes membership dues, event tickets, and much more for VSU.

Where do I find other information about VSU?
On our Parents’ Resource Center website: This is designed to assist parents by providing valuable information and resource contacts on the VSU campus. Although your son or daughter has left home for college, they still need your advice, counsel, encouragement and wisdom. Please use this site as a reference if your son or daughter calls you with a concern or issue they can’t answer. We are here to assist students, and to work for their success, so please encourage your son or daughter to ask questions and take responsibility for themselves and their college career.

When is Parent’s Weekend?
