Khole Paul graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology in 2007. He continued his educational journey at Valdosta State University where he obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Organization Psychology in 2009. He is currently obtaining his Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership and is expected to complete his doctorate degree in 2012.
Khole first came to VSU as undergraduate student because Valdosta is less than 3 hours from where he grew up, and when he first came to visit the campus he fell in love with the Spanish architecture and the intimate nature of the campus and the city of Valdosta. Upon graduating and deciding on what master’s degree to obtain, Khole decided on I-O Psychology because he enjoys working with people and helping people develop both professionally and personally. Khole then decided to study Higher Education Leadership during his doctoral training because it provides him the opportunity to utilize his I-O Psychology background in the higher education environment while also enhancing his leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Khole has been working at OASIS since 2007. He originally started out as a graduate assistant advisor while obtaining his masters degree. In 2008 he was give the opportunity to become a full-time staff member. Khole has enjoyed his years in the department and has worked with a wide array of students including undecided (exploratory) students, non-traditional students, as well as probation students in such areas as advising and counseling. He is also the graduate assistant advisor training coordinator, which allows him to help train and develop graduate assistant advisors across campus. Along with his passion for advising, he is an avid researcher. His areas of interest are technology in advising and the link between advising and leadership, in particular servant leadership. Khole enjoys working at OASIS and believes one of the main goals of advising is to empower students to become active participants in their education as well as their community. Within the next 2-3 years Khole would like to be teaching and researching in a higher education leadership program or serving as an advising administrator somewhere in the southeast.
