Care Management Website
This site has been developed for the College of Nursing Graduate Students in the Care Management Role Courses. The site identifies and describes resources that may be helpful to Care Management Students who wish to locate additional depth of information. The site was designed to provide easy access to care management resources both on the internet and in print.
Care Management is an emerging nursing subspecialty area of practice in which the professional functions as a clinician, administrator, teacher, and researcher. This subspecialty has emerged as a result of health care reform, reengineering, and restructuring of health care systems. The Valdosta State University College of Nursing MSN Care Manager track is designed to provide nurses with the necessary knowledge and skills to be an effective advocate for better health within a continuum of services.
The site is not intended to be comprehensive. My purpose is three fold:
- Present a sample of the kinds of websites and information that will give the student a broader view of care management;
- Sort the information into sites closely related to care and case management; and
- Provide the student with Care Manager Professional Organization information and potential career opportunities.
