Dr. Theresa J. Grove and Dr. Timothy J. Fort

Dr. Theresa J. Grove, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor, Biology Department, and Dr. Timothy J. Fort, Assistant Professor, Biology Department, were recently awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation. In their research project, "Thermal Adaptation of Killifish: The Role of Calsequestrin in Glycolytic Skeletal Muscle," they propose to characterize the structure and function of the calcium binding protein calsequestrin (CSQ) from the fast twitch muscle of teleost fish in the family Fundulidae that are adapted to different environments, and to characterize the muscle mechanics of white muscle from these fish and determine the importance of CSQ.

VSU's Dr. James Muncy kicks-off Langdale Lecture Series

The Harley Langdale Jr. Lecture Series kicks-off August 16 with Dr. James Muncy as the speaker. Muncy, who is professor of Marketing & Economics in VSU's Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration, will talk on the "Keys to Success." His remarks will begin at 5 p.m. in VSU's Pound Hall Auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

Muncy will also speak on the same subject during an additional Langdale Lecture scheduled the next day, August 17, at 9:00 a.m. The location will also be the Pound Hall Auditorium.

The Harley Langdale Jr. Lecture Series provides Valdosta State University business students and the public an opportunity to hear lectures on a wide range of business-related topics presented by experts in their related fields.
