Valdosta State University's Society for Human Resource Management Student Chapter was recently recognized out of 430 student chapters across the nation with the Superior Merit Award for the second consecutive year. The award, given by the National Society for Human Resource Management, is based on the quality and quantity of growth and development opportunities the chapter provides for its members.
According to SHRM Chapter Advisor Rebecca Murphy, the chapter receives points for their programs and community service. Each year, this chapter has increased their points and is moving closer to becoming a Top Ten Chapter, the highest award attainable.
Chapter President Amanda King said she believes strongly in the organization because of the interaction and networking opportunities provided by way of meetings, presentations, and internships with local Human Resource professionals.
