VSU holds Diversity Week in April

Valdosta State University’s office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Multicultural Affairs will host the annual Diversity Week activities during the week of April 2 - 6. Activities include a Diversity Fair on Thursday, April 5, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Palms Quad; as well as, a talent show on Tuesday, April 3.

“Basically, it’s to get the community and other student organizations together,” Sandra Berube, administrative secretary for the department of Equal Opportunity Programs and Multicultural Affairs, said. “We just want everyone to meet each other and mingle”

Diversity Week Scheduled Events

Tuesday, April 3 - The office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Multicultural Affairs will host the “Little Talent Show” in the University Center Magnolia Room from 7 - 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 4 - Viewing of “Babel,” the movie starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Koji Yakusho, in the Seago House across from the University Center.

Thursday, April 5 - Diversity Fair in Palms Quad from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The fair will feature cultural foods, activities, and information booths highlighting campus departments, student organizations, and community agencies.

Friday, April 6 - Diversity Brown Bag Round Table from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Odum Library (tentative). The brown bag lunch will showcase an open discussion with the Diversity Council and Diversity Trainers.
