Valdosta State Dedicates Pedestrian Mall and Science Center
Valdosta State University will hold ceremonies on Monday, April 10, to dedicate two important gathering places on its campus.
A dedication ceremony for the Pedestrian Mall will take place at 10:30 a.m. near the new gazebo between Nevins and West Halls. The ceremony celebrates the transformation of the former Blazer Boulevard, which once allowed vehicular traffic, into an attractive brick-paved walkway throughout the heart of the university's campus.
At 11:30 a.m., the university will hold a naming dedication ceremony for the Hugh C. Bailey Science Center, named after VSU's sixth president who served from 1978-2001. The ceremony will be held on the science center's front lawn.
