Blazers Dance for a Cure
VALDOSTA -- Blazers will dance the night away -- for a cure -- from 8:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, Nov. 20, in the Student Union Ballroom. The Office of Student Life partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network to host “Dance Marathon: We are for the Kids” to raise money for Shands Children’s Hospital at the University of Florida.
VSU fraternities, sororities and a variety of campus organizations have already begun raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network -- a non-profit organization dedicated to funding children’s hospitals across the nation. Last year, more than 150 U.S. colleges and universities raised upwards of $6 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, which tend to 17 million sick and injured children.
Students interested in participating in the event, which will feature a variety of games, food and -- of course -- dancing, should register at VSU’s Dance Marathon website, http://vsudancemarathon.weebly.com/forms.html . The website also provides more information about the event and enables people to make donations online.
