Willers has served as a field instructor for the VSU Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) Program since 1997. She has continuously opened her space, time, and resources for VSU M.S.W. student interns. Willers works at Archbold Northside where she has been an Outpatient Psychotherapist since 1995.
?Mrs. Willers commitment to educating and training our students has been exceptional,? said Allison Curington, director of Field Instruction. ?In a society where service delivery requires more cases, more paper work, and more attention to consumer needs, a commitment to field education is an enormous task,? she added.
The VSU M.S.W. Program graduated 16 students this year and is looking forward to a record-breaking enrollment of over 100 students starting in the fall. Since the beginning, the Division of Social Work at Valdosta State University has served South Georgia by providing qualified graduates to work in area communities. To date, more than 200 students have graduated from the M.S.W. Program, and alumni surveys indicate that approximately 80 percent of these Master of Social Work graduates reside in South Georgia.
