Award-winning SIFE performs on campus

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a non-profit international organization at Valdosta State University, won its 11th consecutive regional championship in Atlanta on April 4 and is currently preparing for the national competition on May 21-23 in Kansas City, Mo. Last year, the student organization finished 3rd in the nation out of 850 teams.

The VSU community can get a taste of this excellence on Friday, April 21, 2006, as the SIFE team performs its 2005-06 Presidential Presentation. The 24-minute multimedia performance will take place at 9 a.m. in the Powell Hall Auditorium.

With a current membership of 450 members, students are committed to work as teams to design educational outreach programs that help people develop the skills needed to succeed in the free enterprise system. SIFE has completed 56 service-learning projects and volunteered over 13,500 hours this year. The VSU SIFE organization is part of an international organization located on more than 800 campuses nationwide and in 45 countries throughout the world.
