VSU Continuing Education announces Work Smarter, Not Harder

VALDOSTA - VSU Continuing Education is offering a new interactive Work Smarter, Not Harder course from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in the University Center Rose Room. Early registration is $55; charge is $65 after May 7.

Designed for those who work frantically every day, yet do not feel efficient, the half-day seminar will provide techniques for immediate implementation. Anyone who feels the burdens of constant interruptions and a cluttered desk or experiences difficulty beginning tasks will directly benefit. Two self-assessments will determine a participant’s level of productivity as well as methods to make time and effort more efficient.

Participants will learn about tools for priority setting and creating action goals and receive tips on how to get the most out of personal work styles. Information will be provided on daily planning and project planning, ideas for organizing your workplace to make work easier and efficient, tools for regaining control of your time by combating productivity killers and time nibblers and suggestions for personal motivation out of procrastination.

Dr. Christy Coons-Yates, VSU Assistant Director of Human Resources for Organizational Development and Strategic Planning will teach Work Smarter, Not Harder. She holds a PhD in Organizational Communication and has extensive experience with organizational analysis, hiring, communication training, interview preparation and professional development.
