Kate Heine joined the staff of University Relations in September of 2007. A University of Missouri-Columbia graduate, she has a background in writing, editing and photography. As a communication specialist, she works with internal departments to develop and implement strategic internal communication and support the preparation of reports, materials and presentations for internal audiences as needed. She serves as editor of alumni publications and the internal newsletter, the VSU Connection.
Jennifer Tanner

A VSU graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, she majored in Speech Communication, emphasizing Public Relations. She now studies Public Administration in VSU's master program. As a communication specialist, she is responsible for media relations at the local, regional, state and national levels; management of the VSU News Web site; and writing/editorial support for Special Events, Creative Services and University Advancement.
