Audition and Scholarship Information
In addition to university admission requirements, students intending to major in music must audition for the Department of Music. This audition may also be used as a scholarship audition.
Special Auditions Days for the 2009-2010 school year will be held on the following dates:
- Saturday, Nov. 14
- Saturday, Feb. 13
- Monday, Feb. 15
- Saturday, March 27
Appointments for auditions may be scheduled by email or may be requested by submitting an on-line form. For auditons students are required to perform two pieces of contrasting style. Instrumental majors should be prepared to play scales. Piano and voice students should be prepared to perform from memory.
Music scholarships are available in all areas of applied study. Only those applicants who have applied to VSU as full time music majors will be considered for scholarships. In addition to the music scholarships listed below there are many other types of financial aid available to students. Our Office of Financial Aid is an excellent place to start in your search for scholarships and financial aid.
