Percussion: The VSU drum line consists of snares, tenors, basses, cymbals, and mallet/pit percussion. Percussionists will receive a packet of warm-ups and audition material during the summer. The goal of the band is to place everyone who auditions on the instrument for which they are best suited and which they will enjoy playing. This year's percussion weekend camp / audition will be June 12th and 13th. This will also serve as the audition dates for inclusion as a member of the VSU drumline and/or front ensemble. If you have not already received information regarding this camp and audition music, please contact Mr. Bradshaw as soon as possible. You will need to provide him with your mailing address. If you are not able to attend the weekend camp in July, you may submit a video showing your ability on as many of the instruments as possible (snare, tenors, bass, cymbals, and mallets). You will still use the audition music sent from the VSU Blazin’ Brigade for this video-taped audition.

The VSU drumline is very proud to be associated with Ludwig Percussion. With our agreement, the drumline receives new instruments every two years. This gives our students the opportunity to perform on the latest equipment and know the instruments will always be in excellent condition.
