Tod Leavitt is a classical, jazz, and popular music bassist. He performs professionally on both the acoustic and electric basses for over twenty years. As a classical bassist, Dr. Leavitt has performed with dozens of symphony orchestras throughout the United States and has been a featured soloist with the Macomb Symphony Orchestra, the Great Lakes Symphony Orchestra, and the Xavier University Chamber Orchestra. In the jazz field, he has performed at hundreds of establishments with various jazz artists, including Dave Brubeck and George Benson. As a popular musician, Tod has performed with several artists including The Moody Blues.

Dr. Leavitt completed a BA at Michigan State University, MA at the University of California, San Diego, and DMA at The Ohio State University. He has taught at Xavier University, Bowling Green State University, Macomb Community College, and Earlham College. Classes he has taught include jazz history and improvisation, music history and theory, orchestration, popular music in America, and The Inner Game.
