High School Model United Nations

The Valdosta State University Model United Nations Program has organized a Model UN Conference for the past 25 years which is open to all middle and high school students. This conference attracts student delegations from throughout Georgia, and from northern Florida. Typically between ten to fifteen schools participate, bringing 100 to 150 students to the Valdosta State University campus. Schools are assigned countries to represent and the students do their best to emulate the actions of delegates from their respective countries. The simulation and the preparation leading up to it are fantastic learning opportunities for students. Students will gain a special insight into the realm of international politics and law, and will hone their public speaking skills. If you have any questions concerning the Valdosta State University High School Model United Nations Conference, please feel free to contact Dr. Carol Glen at cmglen@valdosta.edu or Brandon White at vsumunsg@gmail.com.

The 2009 conference will be held on March 6.
