.Rita Spisak was nominated for Vice President. Christy Cechman has resigned her position as Vice President. She will be finishing the program soon and moving on to Space Studies. Christy did a wonderful job with the original officers laying groundwork and designing our mission. And Christy has not left us yet. She has promised to occasionally help us out when we newbies need a hand. Thanks Christy! Rita did a wonderful job with the tour in Kennesaw. Join me in congratulating Rita on her new position. I’m sure we’ll be seeing great things from Rita.

.John Henderson has been working diligently on designing our website. I think he’s done a wonderful job. But, don’t take my word for it. See it for yourself.

.In honor of our new website, we are having a contest. Stacy Rudy has designed a scavenger hunt incorporating the Odum Library website, Master of Library and Information website and the new SOLIS website. The prize will be a $25 Books a Million Gift Certificate. Questions will be posted in the newsletter.

.Valdosta students have been working on a fundraiser to fund the cost of sending a student to ALA. We wanted to have a fundraiser in which everyone could participate. So, we have decided to sell books and media on Ebay. Keep an eye out for more information on our fundraiser.

.The second edition of the SOLIS newsletter will be out soon. Dr. Ondrusek has generously given us mailing labels so we will not have as much problem with distribution.

.Rita Spisak is currently working on setting up another tour.

.Cordelia Riley is helping us out with our local requirements. She is putting together a display to show on campus. We will be putting a box around campus to gather books for disadvantaged children.

.As for the ABC’s. Some of you mentioned that it would be nice to have the requirements for capstone listed on the website along with courses required. I have spoken to the faculty about this. Several thought it was a good idea. Dr.Yontz has placed the syllabus for this semester’s capstone course on Blazenet groups under MLIS students.
