Technology Needs

This is a Web-based course. V.90 56k Internet access is adequate for most on-line needs. A 28.8k connection is slow but probably not too slow for a patient student.

A 486 processor or equivalent is a necessary minimum.

Students should have at minimum a 4.x browser. Both Microsoft IE and Netscape can be downloaded at no cost.

A word processor capable of html conversion

Adobe Acrobat Reader v 5.x or higher- Free software

E-mail client

Recommended but not necessary: An html editor capable of editing and replacing html code. . Netscape v7.x meets the criterion.

Office Hours and Contact

This course has no "office hours." The class threaded discussion will be monitored daily (except weekends and holidays). I will be available through email. I propose establishing "virtual office hours." I do not promise to answer your email immediately but within 24 hours of receipt. Note the exception above for weekends.

Texts

Two texts

There are also extensive readings. I know the bibliography is big. No, you are not expected to read everything there. It is a resource guide. .

Grades

Final grades are scaled as follows:
|A=90-100|B=80-89|C=70-79|D=60-69|F=0-59|
Assignment weights are provided under course assignments
