Join a high demand field that combines your love of languages with a passion for teaching!

FLED offers four programs:

  • B.S. in Education with a Major in Secondary Education – French or Spanish: Qualifies students for certification to teach French or Spanish in grades P-12. [see current VSU Undergraduate Course Catalog]
  • M.Ed. in Education with a Major in Secondary Education – Spanish: An in-field master’s degree for certified Spanish teachers. [see current VSU Graduate Course Catalog]
  • Certification-Only Internship: Qualifies students without certification or provisionally certified to teach French or Spanish in grades P-12.
  • ESOL Endorsement: Credentials students with a three-course endorsement to teach English to speakers of other languages. [see current VSU Undergraduate and Graduate Course Catalog]
