This space is used for duplication and transfer of a variety of media types. Patrons can duplicate CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and standard audio cassette tapes. The transfer of one format to another is also possible in this space. Patrons can convert VHS and miniDV to DVD and vice versa. Furthermore, patrons can convert international video VHS tapes to the American standard (NTSC).
The Media Transfer and Duplication area of Media Services contains the following equipment:
Audio Duplication:
1 Telex XGen Series Cassette Duplicator: This duplicator is a one to three cassette duplicator. It can copy single or double sided simultaneously.
Video Duplication:
17 Panasonic PV-V4022 VHS Recorders: These decks are daisy-chained to duplicate upwards to VHS tapes simultaneously.
2 CT-1386y Color Monitors: These monitors are setup to monitor the duplication process.
DVD/CD Duplication:
1 Telex Spinwise CD Dubbing Tower: This tower allows a 1-7 duplication process.
1 ProMax DVD Duplication Tower: This tower allows a 1-7 duplication process of both CDs and DVDs.
1 Athena DVD Duplication Tower: This tower allows a 1-7 duplication process of both CDs and DVDs.
1 Primera Composer Pro Robotic CD Duplicator: This device uses a robotic arm to pickup blank CDs and dispenses recorded CDs.
