Anywhere Access to GALILEO

To search in GALILEO from off-campus, VSU students, faculty, and staff have to be authenticated as authorized users.  The easiest way to start your research from off-campus is to log in using the Anywhere Library Access link. Complete the following steps to authenticate yourself as an authorized user of GALILEO:

ANYWHERE LIBRARY ACCESS

  • Go to Odum Library’s homepage, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/
  • From the Main Menu (left side of screen), select Anywhere Access
  • Log in using your BlazeNet username and password
  • Select GALILEO link
You can also access GALILEO via your BlazeNet account, WebCT, or by using the GALILEO password.

 

ACCESS via BLAZENET

  • Log into your BlazeNet Account
  • Select the Academic Resources Tab
  • Select GALILEO link (located on left side of screen)

 

ACCESS via WEBCT VISTA

  • Log into WebCT
  • Select GALILEO link (located on right side of screen)

USING THE GALILEO PASSWORD

Getting the GALILEO Password:

  • Go to Odum Library’s homepage, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/
  • Select the GIL Catalog tab
  • Select Get GALILEO password (located right side of screen)
  • Your Patron Barcode from Home Library is the same as your VSU Institutional ID number. 
  • Type in your VSU ID number & last name (Forgot ID? Use the Institutional ID Lookup or look on your VSU 1Card)
  • Select GALILEO password
  • Select GO
  • Go back to Odum Library’s homepage, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/
  • Select GALILEO tab
  • Enter in the GALILEO password
