Research and Instructional Services

Reference

Research assistance is available in person at our reference desk, located on the 2nd floor of the Odum Library.  See the Ask a Librarian page for reference service hours and options.  You may also wish to schedule a research consultation with Ken Smith, the Documents Librarian for Public Services.

Research Consultation

The purpose of a consultation is to provide advice on the most effective research strategies and resources for a given project. We cannot perform the research for you.  This service is open to non-VSU members of the community.  To schedule an appointment or for more information, please contact us at 229-245-3748 or kensmith@valdosta.edu.

Course-Related Instruction

Government Documents provides a wide range of instructional services.  Librarians will work with faculty to develop course specific instruction and to assist in creating workable library assignments. You can request a library instruction session by filling out our online form or by contacting Ken Smith at 229-245-3748.

Research Guides

Government Documents can create a class handout or web guide of government materials on any subject you choose. Web guides provide a starting point for research by listing selected print and electronic library resources. To talk to us about research guides, please contact us at 229-245-3748 or kensmith@valdosta.edu.
