The Greenwood Turpentine Camp, Stockton, Georgia, 1940s-50s
 

 

 

 

1. J.L. “Jake” Harrington, Sr. managed the Greenwood Turpentine Camp outside Stockton, Georgia for Southern Resin & Chemical Co. of Philadelphia.  He is  pictured here on July 14, 1954.  The camp consisted of 16,000 acres of timber land.  Harrington managed the camp from 1941-1960 and raised his family in this and other South Georgia  turpentine camps.  Photo by his son-in-law, Joseph O.
