Alphabet Books on Display

In the 1st floor display cases we’re featuring alphabet books old and new, from our children’s literature collection. The oldest book displayed, Sally’s ABC, was first published in 1929!

Fall Break Hours

NORMAL HOURS: Odum Library will be open normal hours during Fall Break.  The IT Helpdesk, Circulation desks, and Media Center will all be open their normal hours.

REDUCED HOURS: Reference Services will be closed Saturday, 10/11/2008, and Sunday, 10/12/2008, and will be open from 8:00am-6:00pm on Monday, 10/13/2008.

Training for Sports Performance DVDs

The DVD series Sports Performance demonstrates workouts for developing strength, power, flexibility or speed for a variety of sports.

History of Sex on DVD

The History of Sex examines sexual practices around the world and the role of sex in society from early civilizations through the 20th century, from prostitution in ancient Babylon through AIDS, Viagra and the impact of new technologies.

Thank you to everyone who commented! You have given me, and other readers, some titles to add to my reading list. It is good to know there is student interest in poetry readings and citation workshops, I know we have some librarians interested in both of those.

Odum Library is looking for students to participate in our Website Usability Testing.

October 6 from 11am-Noon

Pizza and drinks will be provided. There will be prize drawings for each session: participants will have a chance to win an 8GB jump drive and many other prizes!

Each session has a maximum of 15 participants and registrations close October 3, so please register early!

Puppets, We Got Puppets

Don’t forget the library has many high-quality puppets available for circulation, several from the Folkmanis company. Puppets are kept in the Reserve area at the 2nd floor Circulation desk—ask at the Reserve desk if you’re looking for puppets.

Books for young children written by actress Jamie Lee Curtis include I’m Gonna Like Me, Is There Really a Human Race?, It’s Hard to Be Five, and Today I Feel Silly.
