We’re using your language

Libraries are notorious for having their own jargon: “Librarian Speak.” We’re trying to move away from that by using the words that you naturally use in everyday life. Using the results from our website usability study (along with conversations with students), we’ve started changing what we call things around here.

So you’ll no longer see references to “3rd Floor Stacks” in the library’s catalog. Instead, you’ll see that they’re called what they really are–shelves!

If you have any suggestions for clearer language (or any other suggestions at all!), please let us know by leaving a comment below.
