I have always really enjoyed Kushiel's Dart by Jaqueline Carey and the books that follow in that series. It is filled with politics, intrigue, romance, and some of the darker pleasures. I also had fun figuring out what fictional religions and places in the book could correspond to real religions and places. It is an exceptional series and very well written.

It would be awesome if we had poetry readings, or book readings by the authors that have written the book or poems. :)

One of the finest World War Two books I have ever read, and I hae been forced to read quite a few of them, is Beyond Band of Brothers: The War Memoirs of Major Dick Winters. Major Dick Winters was the commanding officer of Easy Company during the D-Day invasion, Operation Market Garden and the seizure of Hitler's Eagle's Nest headquarters. His story begins in rural Pennsylvania and we follow along each and every step of his amazing war career.

The highest praise I can give this book, is that I began reading it while waiting for a plane at Jacksonville airport and I did not stop until my plane landed at Logan airport in Boston. That includes a 4 hour delay in Atlanta (of course.) If you have a remote interest in biography or military history, this is a book to read and we have it right here in our library!
