  1. I’ve brought sections of ENGL 1102 to library instructional sessions in both Fall 2007–2 sections–and Spring 2008–4 sections (my wife, of course, led these sessions).

These sessions are light years better than the similar sessions offered by my prior employing institution: they’re much friendlier, they go to great efforts to let students know that they can get help from library staff, and they’re sensitive to the needs of first-time researchers who are often intimidated by the notion of college research.

Most of my students are using a variety of researched database sources in their papers, and they find those sources with much more ease than they would without the benefit of those sessions.

  2. Emily is one of the most helpful librarians here. I wish there were more people like her.

  3. Emiliy is the most helpful atendant at the 2nd floor desk above the coffee shop!

She rocks & is vert helpfull fixing the printers that are always down!

The kids thing she set up last Friday went off without a hitch!

You need to hire more employees of this calaber!

  4. Thanks Everyone, I passed the word along to Emily and the Library’s administration to congratulate her!

  5. I brought three sections of 1102 English classes to the library this semester, and Emily Rogers did a fantastic job with each of these sections. She familiarized herself with the assignments for each class and was knowledgeable about the subject matter during the library orientation. For my students, they need to have confidence that the person they go to for help will actually be able to help them with THEIR specific assignment, and they found that help and reassurance in Emily. She always does a fantastic job with my orientations, and my students speak very highly of her.
