Kings Bay is an off-campus site located in St. Mary's, Georgia. Kings Bay has it's own GIL@Kings Bay Catalog. If you want a book held at Kings Bay, that isn't in the main library, check the GIL Universal Catalog next, for it may be available through GIL Express. An ILL -Odum Express ILLiad request can be placed for books not in the GIL Universal Catalog. Further if the title should be in the main library, Recommend a Book Purchase.
Where can I find books and/or articles my professor has placed on reserve?
On the Library's web site, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/:
- From the left red Main Menu, select Get It / Renew It, and then Course Reserves. OR
- Select the GIL@VSU Catalog from the Quick Search tab, and then Search course reserves.
Items held at the 2nd floor Reserve Desk may be checked-out. Electronic Reserve items accessible from a workstation after successful Anywhere Access login. If you can't open the electronic reserve PDF (portable document format), these Adobe Acrobat Reader tips might be helpful. This Reserve Items overview has more helpful description and detail.
Does the library offer media services or assistance with presentations?
The Media Center provides specialized tools and equipment for working with digital media. A presentation practice room is also located in the 1st floor Media Center.
Does the library offer any special services for students with disabilities?
The Library provides both services and adaptive technology equipment for students with disabilities. Contact the Outreach Service Librarian via e-mail or by phone 229-245-3746, if you need more information.
Does the library offer any special services for faculty?
On the Library's web site, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/, select the the left red Main Menu Services to review a listing that includes the following, Library Instruction, Library Liaisons Contacts, Odum Express, and Course Reserve Processing.

From the Library's web site, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/, search the GIL@VSU Catalog, (http://gil.valdosta.edu). Didn't find what you wanted, try the GIL Universal Catalog next and place a GIL Express request. If none of this works, place an ILL - Odum Express Interlibrary loan request for the book.

This is a difficult question to answer in a short space, so you may wish to use the Live Chat service. To find a journal article on a particular topic you must first consult a periodical index.
The Library's periodical indexes are listed in GALILEO.
Select the Quick Search GALILEO tab on the Library's web site, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/. If the GALILEO Quick Search, doesn't meet your need, try selecting one of the subject tabs to narrow the search. Select a specific index by reading the database descriptions. For additional information about an index click on the circular "i" next to the title. Once you have selected an index, you may search it by entering an appropriate keyword or words. How do I find out whether the library has journal "X"?
On the Library's web site, http://www.valdosta.edu/library/:
- Select the Quick Search Journals tab, you can search for the title in two formats, electronic or print.
- Select the GIL@VSU Catalog > Exact Search tab > select Journal Title > enter Title

How do I find out what videotapes the library has?
The Library's extensive video collection is in the GIL@VSU Catalog. GIL Catalog searches can be limited to the second floor Instructional andFine Arts Materials collections. "Course Reserve Feature Films" are intended for in-building viewing and circulate for only four hours.
Tax forms are available seasonally in the library in the 2nd floor Reference area, along the same wall as the GALILEO printers. The internet also makes available a vast array of tax materials.
